Wonders of those colorful chemical contents

Was browsing thru Promise Phan's page after aeons of not going in to check out her amazing makeover and spotted these contributions from the readers.

Photo: Use Makeup to enhance your beauty not hide it !!! Post your Make-up Transformation Before & After Pictures on my wall and the best 2 will be featured here on my Facebook page

And yes, no one can deny the wonders of cosmetic. I for sure cannot live without it. Natural beauty apparently doesn't always apply to everyone. And I am the lesser fortunate one.

GO Away Fine Lines

One of the major investment that I will be putting forward for 2013 is towards my face! =D
Looking decently good was never an easy task. It worries me when those random on not being able to be a decently hot girlfriend of a guy crosses my mind.

I didn't start and proper skincare regime when I was in my teens. Come on, poor people where got time to think about all this. I barely have enough time to spare on studying and working in between to make enough.

Soon to be 34 in July 2013, I am seriously hoping to salvage the very little substance of youth left in me.
I would be really happy if I can look like a 27 years old till I reach 40 =P

One of the thing that I have invested in is collagen drink.
I've had collagen powder to be made into drinks before but it taste awful!
I am giving these drinks a try, and it ain't cheap! But all for the sake of supple skin and younger looking complexion.

DHC Collagen Drink available @ Watson
Bought 2 boxes for RM199 during their promo period.

It really does work for me! Hair is instantly easier to manage somehow. And those beggars' knot that I have always got  since I don't comb my hair too were all loosen up! And I do notice a better glow on the complexion, with the redness on skin reduced ;)

This is actually hyaluronic acid in serum base, meaning more powerful! Going to review this soon in YourShoppingKaki, so not gonna talk about it now. At the time of writing, I have actually used up at least half of the substance. If you knew of the brand and have been searching on where to buy this, head on to Styles4U

Clarins Anti Aging Double Serum that claims to give super result in 4 weeks time!
By now it's more than 4 weeks already. Result wasn't super obvious, but it's pretty good in giving the suppleness back to the skin. I think the combination of collagen and the anti aging serum does work as now I actually uses less make up as the skin condition is way better than previous and there isn't blotchiness =D
Retailing at RM280 yo :/

2013 !!

circa 2011 / 2012

Won this set of Olay Regenerist Wrinkle Eraser Set from Cheeserland!! ;D

Such is life. There is no natural beauty one!... You gotta work hard to pay off to attain the slightest of beauty if you are not born with it :'(

Small Worm Big Sea

I can't bring myself to wrap up the year. I don't think I have that much of an achievement, enough to wrap it up and end it with a big red bow.
Now that the world did not shatter in front of our eyes, I am actually worried about what's going to be in front.
Have you ever wondered how would it be if you are left on your own to fend for your own life? Having to lose your loved ones and those closer to you.
Does each of us human need a pillar of strength?
Do people actually suffer from emotional battle just by having themselves feigning each day on their own?
I have too much concern.
I have too many question.

I don't know just how much time am I left with.
I think not too much though.

Spent so much time on doing nothing solid today at work.
I rephrase.
I spent too much time this past 2 days at work doing almost nothing.
I guess there isn't much to life except to being alive...

Like a big blue ocean of nothingness..

Inspired from Nefera de Nile of MonsterHigh

Pictures are just lame fillers.
Today.. suddenly the social media platform just doesn't appeal anymore.
I think I am letting go of the white lace dress that I initially wanted to use for a meaningful day.
There really isn't a point to keep a white lace dress for another 2 more years only to see that it has changed to creamy yellow tone.
2 years seems like forever.
I don't even know if mum will be alive by then.
I don't even know if I will be in one piece by then.
It's too long. Just too long to try holding on to something.
Like waiting for the worm to float up the big blue ocean....

Safi Beauty Cream

Ever since I have discovered the cheaper alternative to this 'SP Cream' from Wangi, I have never stop trying the different types available in the drugstore. I first started with the Safi Balqis Perfect 10 valued at RM7.90 with a 10% discount from Watson.
Of all that I have tried this is the best so far.

Safi Balqis Perfect 10 Beauty Cream

During those period of using the first tub of Perfect 10.

It really does give a fairer and more even complexion. It works great as a base before the application of foundation or in my case, BB Cream. One small tub last for more than 3 months based on my daily application =D  Super economy!

As I finished the first bottle, I thought of trying other range, thinking that maybe a GOLD one would give me the suppleness. I got the Safi Rania Gold @RM10.90 (if not mistaken) but with discount as usual, if yo buy from the pharmacy ;)

Don't like the texture for this Gold version. Super sticky and oily. A few friends started to follow suit after seeing me yapping about the goodness of beauty cream. 2 of them bought the gold version one. One can't take the greasiness and have breakouts after that. The other one is loving it on her slightly dry skin.
I guess now you know. Beauty cream doesn't really have an indication whether its for oily or dry skin. It is after all for general beauty, like that ever famous Hazeline Snow cream that god knows whatever it is for =D

Later on I was tempted to try different ones since the Gold doesn't really suit me. So I got the Safi Beauy Cream with the green cap - that claims to have 'lidah buaya'. As this is not a proper beauty review, I won't bother to explain what's lidah buaya =D

The green cap one was OK. Better than gold but not as good as the blue cap Perfect 10. As I am using as a make up base, so there isn't much to comment about. As long as its non greasy then I am fine. but I do nothing that it's hard to spread the cream on evenly. Which could be due to the fact that the skin is not fully hydrated. Most of the time I am in a rush, so all beauty stuff would have to seep in FAST!! As I slap on fast too, without ample time for it to sit in. Which may result in unevenness when slapping on the cream and warming it over the face.

I noticed in the pharmacy that the stock for a particular Safi beauty cream is always low in stock - the yellow cap one. With some different ingredients but I forgot >.<
Hence I purchased that too when I finally spotted only one more tub left.
It's almost the same as the green cap one in terms of stickiness and evenness when warming onto  face.
It's slightly easier to slather on. Perhaps this time I make sure that other moisturiser and what not have settled in before slapping on more  stuff.

When any of these cream are warmed up nicely on the skin by gently pressing your hands onto the face, it pretty much gives you a smoother platform to put on your foundation or BB cream.

I am not very certain on how the cream have benefited me much. After all it is only a mere RM7 per tub. but I think in general it has slightly corrected my uneven skin tone very lightly in the long run. And true to what my Malay girlfriend who uses it since high school to prevent pimples, in a way I did notice the lessening of pimples popping out.

This is definitely going to be in my beauty list for all time.
And who says locally produced goods are no good?  O.o

Before the beauty cream was made known to me

Now that I have used the Safi range of Beauty Cream

Lines

Today the beautician told me I have started to develop fine lines - a nicer term to describe wrinkles ;( ;(
It's really not fun being on this side of life - as a woman.
When you are in the 20s you worry about not getting hitched. When you do get hitched, you worry about not being fertile enough to produce. When you do get hitched and able to produce, you worry that you body shape will resemble that of a big blob of amoeba and lose out to other svelte ameoba out there - and eventually losing the husband to them.
So you try to juggle everything in order to achieve this nirvana of being Cleopatra of all women - to have an eternal or the very least, prolonged youthful period in a body that ages as fast as you can fart.
And you can't really stop the lines from forming on your face, the cellulite making a statement on the thigh, ass and arms.
And when you are in the working force, especially where your outlook play an important part, there are  more concern on how your display yourself, the worry of having a non-elastic face, and non-glowing set of eyes that will turn off any prospective clients into buying whatever that you are selling. OK, I've seen people who doesn't have these concern and are having all this issues on them and still be able to market, but that's because they have 150% of confidence and 300% of thick-skin and self-absorbed quality which can kill the rest of other defining factors - something that I don't think I have. And I definitely despise showing off the sillhoutte of a sagging boobs underneath the fitted top and causes everyone to have the impression that I failed to do what a woman should do - wear a proper bra! OK totally irrelevant.

There really isn't a defined definition of perfect - you are as perfect as you can accept yourself.
That is most probably the only consolation I can tell own self.
Now I just got to go search for cheap eye cream and get the lines solved - I hope.

Mini Review : Burt's Bees Sugar Scrub
Got this lil sachet in July's box as mentioned and its oh-wow-amazing!
Perhaps I have not seen or used much scrub,  but this is by far the best. I've tried something similar from a Korean brand  I can't remeber which) but the sugar concentrate here is much coarser and doesnt melt as fast.
Not believeing it's really sugar, I sort of put my tongue in it and gave it a lick :p
Yorr!! Whatever it is, it is sweet as sugar!! I guess it must be sugar!

I have always have this problem of dried and squashed up knuckle on the left hand. yes, only on the  left hand. No issues on the right hand because I have a habit to lift my left hand higher when typing and hence pressing on the knuckle all the time. But I don't have such habit for the right hand. I just don't know why!
Then at the time of typing this, I just realised something. The right side of my desk is facing the outer part of the table and has no obstruction. The left side is however.. urmm... filled with an assortment of stuff that was permanently there since ages.. -_-

spot the left side! >.<

The scrub was coarse enough yet not painful when scrubbed on. It eventually melts and creates this waxy feel, as if layering the skin with a layer of oil. Some may not like the layer of oil but on coarse areas like my knuckle it's moisturising enough! =D

Amazingly enough, it does wonders when rubbed on to the coarse knuckle of mine!

See how the dark color were reduced just in a single scrub session!

More before / after in case you were not convinced.

what I meant by that layer of waxy feel. See how the water drops just doesnt drop or coagulate together, as if bound by a layer of oil.

I didnt read much instruction if I should lather up again with any other body wash after using the scrub. As it was pretty moisturising, I thought of leaving it as it is since I used it after body wash. It was tad too sticky leaving it as it is that I am not sure fi I will leave traces on papers if I were to rest my hand on stacks of A4 paper. Hence I decided to lather up and wash off the waxy feel =D

Overall, I still love this scrub as it's pretty good in getting rid of those dead cells and not to mention gives a good layer of moisturise to dry skin.

Vain and Lame Post

One too many camwhore of late..
It's like a marathon to encapulate whatever balance of youthful essence I am left with in this 33 years old body. Yes, finally I am feeling old compared to those young people I hang out with - online or offline.
It's like at anytime those wrinkles and crow feet will start attacking me and eat my face off that no amount of BB cream can rectify it!

It's so hard being a woman ;(
One second you got to go for Pap Smear and make sure no freaking mushroom / parasites grow in your va jay jay.. Then you gotta worry in case some big ass 5cm lumps grows in your breast. Then sometimes you hormone changes and somehow distort some crap system in your reproduction system and you develop fibroid :/
Give us a break la GOD! Go make the guys have more than blue balls syndrome and erectile dysfunction!
I have added some new members to the supplement community that I consume. Never a regime that I can follow dutifully but still trying to make it a habit to at least maintain the almost zero level of youth left in this body :(

On another note, I can't stop myself from buying another pot of the Safi Beauty Cream. This time it's the one with Sari Lidah Buaya - aloe vera to be exact. Amazingly this is equally good too!! Way better than the Safi Gold. The sales girl at the pharmacy too said that the Safi Rania Gold is way too oily. Review more laters!!

grren cap for the aloe vera essence one!!
